King Ash Bay King Ash Bay is situated on the McArthur River in the Gulf of Carpentaria, approximately 200km West of the NT/QLD border near the town of Borroloola. The McArthur River has excellent fishing and provides a gateway to the Sir Edward Pellew group of islands. The Mouth of the McArthur River is a maze of tidal creeks and river channels that offer excellent fishing for many species including Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Queenfish, Snapper and Crabs. Wildlife that can be spotted in the area include Dugong, Sea Turtles, Crocodiles and many bird species. For the person that just wants to relax and get away from everything this area is perfect as it is isolated and there are many picturesque quiet spots on the river to laze around and pass the time away. Indigenous arts can be viewed and purchased from the nearby town of Borroloola. |
